Where is your quadrant?

Over two years ago, when no one read the blog, I posted the political compass. You can visit the tool here.

In the middle of this presidential election, one in which there are more tangible differences between viable candidates than there have been in quite a while, I thought it might be interesting to revisit it.

After answering a series of questions on a sliding scale, readers can see where they stand on the social and economic spectrum in relation to historical figures, world leaders, and those who hope to be. The close ideological proximity of supposed rivals really calls in to question the notion of choice in two-party American electoral politics.

I decided to see where my views sit compared to several 2012 Presidential candidates, along with Sanders and Clinton, based on their 2016 campaign platforms as interpreted by the site. Then I figured why not throw in where the compass ranked Hitler, Stalin, and Gandhi.

Test yourself here – available in English, Spanish, German, and Portuguese. It only takes around ten minutes.

  1. As a teenager of the sixties, I thought I’d be far Left and am, according to this tool;
    Economic Left/Right: -6.63

    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.33
